Artist & Writer Consultant- Laura Becker, Los Angeles, CA
Laura has been involved in many facets of the music industry for the past fourteen years, including management, publishing, A&R and talent scouting. She has worked with artists, songwriters and producers such as Herbie Hancock, Maxwell, Bonnie Raitt, Don Was and Vonda Shepard. While at Famous Music Publishing, she pitched songs from their vast catalog, working with writers/artists such as Linda Perry, Bush, Eminem, Montell Jordan, Paula Cole, Boyz II Men, K’s Choice, Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and Fred Jerkins. Most recently, Laura has been involved in casting talent for television shows such as “Star Search” (CBS), “The Missy Elliott Project” (UPN), “R-U the Girl with T-Boz and Chilli” (UPN) and seasons 1 and 2 of “The Pussycat Dolls Present” (CW).

Wondering if your song has what it takes to be a hit? If you would like to sharpen your songwriting skills we will give you feedback on song structure, lyrics, melodies and overall "pitchability."
To submit songs for critiques send CDs (home recordings are fine) with the following:
- Song name and number (if multiple songs on CD)
- Typed Lyrics Sheet
- Writer name(s)
- Artist name and bio (if applicable)
- Self-addressed stamped envelope (CDs will not be returned unless requested by submitter and appropriate sized envelope is included)
- Check for $25 per song, made payable to Sho-Bud Music
